Book Review: What the Moon Gave Her by Christi Steyn

Rating: 1 star of 5

I recently went to the bookstore to choose a new book of poems to add to my collection. The cover of this one drew me in, so I decided to give it a go despite having never heard of the author.

Unfortunately, I’ve found upon reading it that this poet / style of poetry are just not for me. There were a couple of poems that contained thought-provoking lines, but overall, the collection just didn’t resonate with me and I found many of the poems clunky and disjointed. Some of them made absolutely no sense and I found some of the stylistic choices to be off-putting as well.
